Perfectionism prevents us from being seen
So let’s make this week messy
Good morning, sunshine ☀️ Here’s your three-part nudge for the day:
a prompt
Winter is coming. Set a timer for five minutes, and write down as many ideas as you can for ways to rest. Whether you have just a few minutes, an afternoon, or a couple of weeks, think of ways you can spend that time restoring yourself. Make them delicious.
a thought
“Perfectionism is a twenty-ton shield that we lug around, thinking it will protect us, when in fact it’s the thing that’s really preventing us from being seen.” – Brené Brown
farewell
Jill Tattersall, sexual health doctor (1930–2025)
“[Tattersall]… helped to change the face of healthcare by co-founding a clinic providing contraception for unmarried women and underage girls in the 1960s… Her forte and expertise were the recognition and counselling of sexual problems, later termed psychosexual medicine. She relished the opportunity to offer advice of this nature, mostly unsolicited, on a regular basis to her children and grandchildren.”
Thanks for coming, dear makers and shakers. See you tomorrow ☕
